What?
Join us as we uncover lessons learned from the development and launch of a Montie Design original product, the X-Rest portable shooting rest, during an engaging 45-minute live Web conference.
As a product design and launch firm we usually help others bring their product ideas to reality. With the X-Rest, we believed we had not only an original and viable product idea, but also an opportunity to "walk a mile in the shoes of" our clients. In this presentation, we share the processes and experiences that brought X-Rest from concept to market in just six months, and communicate some lessons learned that can help companies and entrepreneurs launch new products on limited budgets of time and money.
A question and answer session will follow the presentation, time permitting.
(Click here to see a one-minute promotional video for the product.)
Why Attend?
Gain insight on the scope of processes and capabilities required for bringing a new product to market, including ideation, design, engineering, manufacture, promotion, sales, and customer support.
Gain inspiration that the right market-driven idea can come to fruition even on modest resources and with zero initial brand awareness.
When?
Thursday, April 22, noon-12:45 p.m. EDT
Monday, April 26, 1:00-1:45 p.m. EDT
Tuesday, April 27, 10:00-10:45 a.m. EDT
Who?
Product management professionals, entrepreneurs, industrial designers, and engineers who want to have a better understanding of the entire process of getting a product to market. Firearms enthusiasts are welcome, likewise!
How?
The webinar will be conducted via the Web and telephone simultaneously. Participation is free, but participants per session are limited to 24 to allow opportunities for questions and discussion. Those interested must register on this page to participate in one of the three sessions.
About the Presenter
Montie Roland is the founder and president of Montie Design, a product design and launch firm focusing on differentiated business and consumer products in low-to-medium product sales volumes. Montie Design was incorporated in 2006 and is headquartered in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region.
Through the firm’s capabilities in industrial design and mechanical engineering, Montie Design fills gaps in clients' design and development processes.
Beyond creating its own products, Montie Design specializes in helping companies that offer enclosed electronic devices (including two companies with a North Carolina presence, Extreme Networks and Sixis). We understand how to optimize the design concerns related to mechanical, thermal/airflow, electrical engineering, PCB layout, ergonomic, miniaturization, ruggedization, and other needs, to create a winning customer product.
President Montie Roland is a 1990 graduate of the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University, and has a twenty-year track record successfully developing products at various stages from concept to market launch, partnering with an array of valued clients and service providers across a diverse set of industries.
Mr. Roland is also the founder and president of the RTP Product Development Guild and Co-op, a trusted network of engineers, designers, and affiliated partners offering services such as rapid prototyping, software engineering, electrical engineering, and manufacturing, in addition to the Montie Design core services of mechanical engineering and industrial design.
